Finally have my new website up and running! I think I completely used up all of Nathan's patience with my many Q's and changes. He's a saint - and a talented one! I'd love for you to take a look HERE and look thru the galleries in my portfolio and leave a comment in the new photography blog. And as always - please pass the link along to your contacts!Again - can I just say thanks to all of you. I can not believe how supportive friends & family have been in this business venture. THANK YOU!!

So tonight is an info night at Madi's school about French Immersion (which she starts in the Fall!). So, we've been planning to go for weeks and had the info on the fridge for eons... then talking to one of the moms today she said that the school had asked for it to be "kid-free", no children allowed. Yikes! So, I sent out an e-mail to a group of people form church who live near us or might be free tonight. Within half an hour I had 4 people saying they could do it. Finally I sent out an e-mail saying it was taken care of.
Anyhow, it may seem like a small thing - but that speaks volumes about the church to me that people are so willing to serve and love our kids and be so giving. THANK YOU!

This weekend we claimed Saturday as a "house" day - to try to tackle the house to get it ready (eventually) to sell. So, I spent the entire day in the bathroom redoing the grout. Fun. Mark did odd jobs like filling in holes and fixing the odd thing here and there. In the evening we went to the FRWY for the youth's fundraiser dinner and were thrilled to have the Bourque gang come join us. Always fun to see them - although I was hoping Sarah would be showing more! We were going to go back to their place but we had a pooping incident with Eden (on her tights) and no change of clothes... and did I mention the girls woke up at 5am that day? We went home and all crashed - Mark and I did a bit of work as well.
Sunday the girls redeemed themselves by sleeping in until 8am. Hallelujah! I went to the Meeting House in Kitchener with my sister and we went out for lunch and shopping. The Meeting House was fun because it was Paul Morris preaching. I love that guy. It was good to see he's still the same guy - same funny humour and mannerisms. He was always a LOT of fun! Anyhow, then I met with clients in Kitchener, and then in Guelph and then I met up with Leanne, COle & Kyra. Love catching up with them and always wonder why Leanne and I waited until they moved to Fergus to really connect. Came home and laughed my head off watching the Office and Arrested Development with Mark. Can't decide which show I prefer. Both are HILARIOUS! A fun weekend!

In Madi's ongoing self-confidence series....Mark was reading a book to her about dinosaurs (she's still obsessed) and he read "No one knows exactly why dinosaurs went extinct". And she says "I know why. I know everything. It was volcanoes. I know everything." Yes, that's one theory but.... she knows everything. In the winter our house has a neat trick it plays on us. The pipes randomly freeze leaving us without water in different parts of the house. Since Sunday night our bathroom has been without water. So, to flush the toilet, I need to carry a bucket of water from the kitchen upstairs. Nice - especially when the girls seem to have the Goodyear kid's runs. Speaking of the Goodyears - thank you for letting me come and shower today!! It is so cold - I gouged my hand bringing in groceries the other day but didn't even realize it until my hands thawed enough to notice they hurt and were bleeding. But when I talked to my dad who just came back from Thunder Bay he said it was -30degrees there. I informed him it was that cold here also - but he meant BEFORE the wind-chill. Ah yes, now I remember why I'm glad we don't live in Tundra Bay anymore. Madi has been improving in her fine motor skills. I'm really trying to work with her on them - and keep it fun! She is just not interested in things like learning letters and how to hold a pencil when there are dinosaurs to hunt and monsters under the kitchen table and her crayons start talking to each other and.... I love her imagination. And I love that her teacher appreciates it and "gets" her. Mark and I have been watching Arrested Development - did I say this in an earlier post? Oh well - deserves another mention if so. I LOVE this show. I bought him season 1&2 for his birthday and even though we've seen Season 1 before - we are still killing ourselves laughing through each episode. So funny. My evil, wonderful dad brought us Persians from Thunder Bay. You can only get Persians in Thunder Bay so whoever goes always brings them home for everyone. They are so sweet and sugary and horrible for you. What a treat! Yummmmm..... (oh - Marcie, I accidentally ate yours.... love you!) I think the best thing that came out of our recent trip was I came back feeling refreshed in my role as mom. It's my full time job and I don't really get vacations from it. I am just loving these munchkins so much lately! Yesterday I had a woe is me day - feeling like I have been running around in circles and accomplishing nothing with so much to do still. But I also felt disconnected. It's funny how feeling really truly connected to a few friends impacts me so much. When I go without that connection for too long my soul aches for it. I'm needing some good girlfriend time soon. My hubby is a saint. He puts up with me and all the whirlwind of chaos that comes as part of the Krista package and doesn't complain. He works long hours and then comes home and is super daddy - reading to the girls with so many voices and drama he should be up for an Oscar! or chasing them around the house or having energy when mine is gone. He's a keeper. EVERY day when Mark comes home, the girls scream when they hear the door and dash under the kitchen table. Then I say to Mark "I lost the girls" and he goes looking for them all over the house while they giggle and cuddle under the table. Every day. Never gets old. Love it. And Madi has started a new morning tradition of sending Mark to work with an imaginary map and sometimes she lets Clifford the Big Red DOg (also imaginary) go with him to help him at work. She's so thoughtful. Eden is still in love with her bunk beds. When she prays each night she thanks God for her bun beds consistently. Did I mention my girls have taken to singing or chanting their prayers? Very amusing.

Yesterday Madi and I were talking about the activity centers at school. Whenever they have free choice she ALWAYS picks the "farm centre" (toy farm set). So, yesterday was a day she got to choose her activity so I said "I know what centre you picked!" She sighed and said "Mom, I think I'm falling in love with the farm centre." The way she said it you would have thought she had just met Mr. Right!
We have begun the potty training process with Miss Eden. The first day was great - she even went on her own while I was downstairs doing laundry. The next day was like she had never seen a potty before. Then we had a couple busy days where we weren't at home - then this week we've started back up. She's doing good. It's hard because I have to put on a diaper to go get Madi and take Madi to school, and then for naps and then for bedtime... doesn't seem to give her much time to learn! Madi is the supportive older sister though and has to come check what Eden has done each time and cheer for her and make sure we all do our "Potty Parade" (we cheer and dance around).
Eden got her hair cut and it is the cutest thing ever. Hope t get some pics tomorrow. Madi's friend Noah at school - the one who told his mom he had met the woman he was going to marry (Madi) told his mom this week that he loves Madi more than her (his own mom). One smitten boy!
We've come up with this idea to do our family night based on the letter of the week at school. So last week was "C" so we did "Camping" and had our pretend campout. This week is "D" so Mark is taking the girls on a "double daddy dessert date" tomorrow. We'll see how long we can carry this out - for now it's fun.
We went tobogganing today with Jake & Natasha. Jake & Madi were up and down and up and down the hill - just beaming. They had SO much fun! Eden was happy wandering around, picking up sticks and getting in the way. We're going again tomorrow with Noah and his mom and sister, Teegan.
Eden has taken to being a kangaroo and carrying stuffed animals in her "pouch" (down the front of her pants) while hopping through the house. She likes to be called "Joey Eden" when she is a kangaroo. She decides who she is when she is pretending and is quite adamant that she is to be called only that and you are only to be called what she tells you. For example today she was pretending to be "Eden 's Mommy" and I Was "Eden". She would only answer to "Eden's Mommy".
I now have to go back to child locking our cupboards. Eden has taken to helping herself to our snack cupboard. Today I was on the phone - came back and she had dumped the entire box of animal crackers on the table in one big pile. Then she closed the empty box and put it back in the cupboard. When I came in the kitchen she was eating from her pile and freaked out when I told her she couldn't eat them all. I burnt REALLY bad some food tonight. I had the burner on too high and I ran upstairs for a "second" to get something, and then got distracted by this and that and this and... wow! Smoky kitchen! The girls were quite thrilled. Madi insisted her and Eden get their boots on and go outside and check if the house was on fire. I found them just as Madi was trying to open the front door - they had t-shirts, no pants and their winter boots. Then Eden came in the kitchen and sang "fire's burning, fire's burning, draw nearer, draw nearer..." and on and on they unknowingly mocked me!
The girls have been in "Buddy Mode" lately - which is great except they can't fall asleep because they're giggling and in each other's bunks and so on. ANd ever since we got back from vacation they have been waking up REALLY early - like 6am rather than their usual 7-7:30ish. This is not only an ungodly hour to deal with requests for breakfast, dinosaurs, movies, etc. - but this is when I use to exercise! So, then I've tried to exercise when they nap - but I'm so tired I fall asleep with them when I lay down to read their stories. Finally got back on track with exercising - phew!
Had a photo shoot last night for a couple's 50th anniversary. 50 years. Can not even imagine. I love watching older couples who are so comfortable and content with each other. It's great. My parents celebrate their 40th this year. Weird.
Had to have the "fibbing" talk with Madi. She todl me a few things taht happened in class that were totally believable, but when I asked her teacher about them - she said they never happened. And even Madi had told me all about the new girl "Ang" - there's no new girl. So we had to explain if she's just joking, she needs to tell us and the difference between the truth and lying. How am I ever going to know when she's telling me the truth about her day?
